Weekly Athletic  Recap

Below is our weekly recap for the week of February 27th! 

Congrats to our Athlete of the Week - Reagan Megow, Gavin Smith, James Simpson, Adam Palermo

Basketball 

After varsity basketball practice, the boys assembled 200 Easter baskets that will be given to children throughout Chester County along with a new Easter outfit. Each basket has a sticker saying “Happy Easter From Partners In Outreach and Devon Prep school! " The team has a district seeding game on Tuesday night vs SLA Beeber at 6:00. The state tournament starts next week. 

Wrestling

February 25th vs. Districts at Faith Christian

The 3rd wrestling season for the program is officially over for the Tide. The team wrestled in the District 1/12 AA Tournament today at Faith Christian Academy which included a solid line up of opponents. Unfortunately, none of the team moved forward to Regionals next weekend. Michael Cline-Thomas ‘26 finished 4th and will be considered an alternate. Shane Dugan ‘25 and Liam MacDonald ‘25 also competed today and have shown a huge amount of growth throughout the season will be set up well as they return next season. Great season boys! 

Bowling

PCL Playoffs, February 21st vs. LaSalle

The Tide's season officially came to an end as they were defeated by LaSalle in the PCL playoffs by a score of 3056 to 2717. In the process, the team set another school record with a team high game of 1013 in game 2. Individual highlights include: Gavin Ola '25 rolled games of 225, 248, and 205 for a 678 series, Giorgio Cipolloni '26 added games of 211 and 200, Bradley Hart '26 added games of 180 and 191, Wyatt Theissen '25 rolled a 221. The team had a successful season and looks to build on this momentum next year!

Swimming

February 24th & 25th vs. PCL Championships at LaSalle

The Tide swimming team had a busy weekend for their finals meets of the season. PCLs were held Friday and Saturday morning and Districts were held Friday and Saturday evening at La Salle University. For PCLs, Reagan Megow ‘23 competed in the 200 IM and 100 Back. Gavin Smith ‘23 competed in the 200 Free and 100 Breast. James Simpson ‘24 competed in the 100 Fly and 100 Free. Adam Palermo ‘25 competed in the 200 Free and 50 Free. Gio Notaro ‘25 competed in the 50 Free and 100 Free. Sean Palermo ‘26 competed in the 100 Free and 100 Back. Reagan, Gavin, James, and Adam swam in the 200 Medley Relay. James, Adam, Sean, and Gio swam in the 200 Free Relay. Reagan, Sean, Gio, and Gavin swam in the 400 Free Relay. For Districts, Reagan Megow competed in the 50 Free and 100 Free. Gavin Smith competed in the 200 Free and 100 Breast. Gio Notaro competed in the 50 Free. Reagan, Gavin, James, and Adam swam in the 200 Medley Relay. James, Adam, Sean, and Gio swam in the 200 Free Relay. Reagan, James, Gio, and Gavin swam in the 400 Free Relay. The boys swam strong in their respective events, placing 8th overall in PCLs and 5th overall in Districts. The boys should be proud not only of the way they finished the season, but their entire performance throughout. Roll tide!

Squash

February 21st vs. Germantown Friends

The Devon Prep HS team matched up against Germantown Friends School Tuesday with Freshman Nate Weir ‘26 coming out with a big win. Freshman Nace Barry ‘26 came close, playing GFS’s #1, winning 2 out of 5 and making an impressive showing!
