This week wrapped up the last week of Fall athletics at Devon. Our soccer seasons concluded on November 5th with the Region 17 MS CYO All Star Game. The MS Tide soccer team had four representatives in this year's Region 17 CYO All Star Game. The Devon Prep Tide was represented by Gustav Najdek ‘27, Nico Del Prim ‘27, Chase Chapman ‘27, and Darian Williams ‘27. The game was hosted by Malvern Prep at 2:30 on Saturday, November 5th. Each of these players played a pivotal part of their success this season for the MS soccer team. As 8th graders, we look forward to seeing them continue to grow as soccer players and become a big part of the high school soccer program next year!

Cross Country

On Saturday, November 5th, Pat Rullo ‘24 qualified and ran at the PIAA State Championships at Hershey. It was a beautiful day and there was a competitive field of runners. Pat ran a time of 18:40, placing 107th overall out of over 250 runners. Congrats to Pat on a great season! 

Crew

November 6th our crew team competed at Hidden Chase. The boys did very well under very challenging conditions. The river was full of leaves and they were getting bunched up in rudders and skeg fins of all crews except a lucky few causing errant steering all over the course. In turn this meant very slow times for the majority of the day. The 1st Double of Jack McGuinn and Haig Shamlian went 14/20. This was Jack’s first race of the day! The 2nd Double of Ethan Schaeffer and Nishan Shamlian went 6/12. The 1st Quad had to scratch due to illness. The 2nd Quad went 8/10 with major steering issues related to the leaves. Jack McGuinn definitely gets the most valuable oarsman award today for having raced twice for a total of 5 miles of hard nosed racing. Well rowed!

Good luck to the ice hockey team tonight who is competing against Conestoga in our first ever Devon Prep hockey game!
