A HUGE shout out to the Cross Country, Lacrosse and Basketball teams for volunteering/participating at the Radnor Run on Sunday to help raise money and awareness for Lung Cancer.
Our MS cross country team ran at Marsh Creek in a non league event on October 24th. Despite soggy conditions and water-logged sneakers, all boys ran hard, led by Revanth Kosaraju who placed 6th. Other standouts included Trevor Heebner-Elliott ‘29 (12th place), Evan Martin ‘29 (16th place), and Oliver Parenteau ‘28, who kicked to the finish line and ran his strongest race of the season. The boys wrap up their season on Sunday at the CYO championships. The Middle School Cross Country team closed their season on Sunday with the CYO Championship at Belmont Plateau. In the 3K, Trevor Heebner-Elliott ‘29 led the way with a new personal best of 13:15. Next was Evan Martin ‘29 at 15:58 and Devak Shah ‘28 with a new PR of 16:56. Adriel Gonsalves ‘28 (20:14) and Oliver Parenteau ‘28 (20:51) closed out their season with great efforts. In the 4K, Revanth Kosaraju ‘27 kicked to the finish for a time of 22:03. Next, we had Pierce Rohlfing ‘25 cruise in for a Belmont PR of 19:53 (first time under 20 at Belmont!) which was good for 22nd place. Next up, we had Jake Murphy ‘25 flying in for a big Belmont PR of 21:41 and that was his first time under 22 at Belmont. Daniel Mongiello ‘25 also ran a big PR with a time of 23:12. He’s already looking forward to breaking 23 next year. Spencer Collins ‘26 came through with a big performance to wrap up the top 5 with a PR of 23:23. Then finishing off the season with a solid time, Max Collins ‘25 ran 25:17. Awesome job everyone and congrats on all the PRs. Good luck at States, Pat!
On October 30th our crew team competed in the USRA. The boys rowed in three races at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta this weekend, one of the largest and most prestigious regattas in the country. The Novice Quad (J. McGuinn, M. Norton, L. Lelli, N. Kashuba) went 8th of 19 with a serious gain in speed from two weeks ago on almost the same course. The Varsity Quad (R. Lewis [C], M. Cuff, A. Thomas, J. Esposito [C]) went 14th of 31 crews. Trying to break into the top 10, this crew had a tough week with a broken lineup, but faced the adversity head on fairing quite well against our PSRA rivals we will see all spring long. The JV Double (E. Schaeffer, N. Shamlian) went 22nd of 37. The have picked up significant speed in the last two weeks and being just sophomores in a mostly junior and senior event, they we’re excited about the future of this lineup. Next up: Hidden River Chase next Sunday against our PSRA rivals before we meet again in March for spring sprint racing season.
