Weekly Athletics Recap- 9/25

Congrats to our athlete of the week- Pat Rullo

The soccer team has been playing some of the best teams in the state the last couple of games. Our team has been battling but ending up on the wrong side of the scoreboard. They are constantly improving though and the future is very bright for these athletes. On September 20th Varsity team played LaSalle and lost 7-0. On September 22nd we traveled to Father Judge and lost 8-0. We played a good team today and although the score doesn’t reflect it, we had some great individual performances from Ryan Samms ‘25 and Mark Bennett ‘26. Our JV team is also progressing as well. On September 20th we played LaSalle and lost 8-1. The next day our JV played Germantown Academy and lost 3-1. Reid Anderson ‘25 provided the only goal in the game for the Tide. The next day we traveled to Father Judge and lost 6-1. We kept our heads up and played hard until the final whistle. It was a great team all around leading to Matt Pascale ‘25 goal. We will learn from what went wrong and be ready for the next game. Very tough week for the high school soccer program. Our MS team played on September 20th vs. PJPII and lost 5-0. Tough game for the MS soccer team as they took their first loss of the season to PJPII. With the team having several opportunities to put the ball in the net, the team came up short of getting onto the scoreboard. Back to work tomorrow to prepare for Thursday! On September 22nd the MS team traveled to Windsor Christian Academy and won 3-0. The Tide MS soccer team was able to bounce back from a tough loss the other day with a 3-0 victory over Windsor Christian Academy. Goals were provided by Nico Del Prim ‘27, Prasad Nunez ‘28, and Jackson Fisher ‘29. Along with the overall great play by the Tide, Ryker Bergeman ‘28 came up with a few solid saves in net to collect his second shutout of the season. The final game of the week was on September 24th vs. St. Norbert’s. We won 3-0. The Tide MS soccer team added another victory to their record as they won 3-0 vs. St. Norbert’s. The team now has an overall record of 4-1-1. Goals were provided by Conor Hamilton ‘28 and Gustav Najdek ‘27 (2). The Tide also recorded their third shutout of the season thanks to Ryker Bergeman ‘28 and Jackson Fisher ‘29. Ryker unfortunately had to come out of the game due to an injury late in the first half but Jackson stepped up for the Tide as he made several great saves to give the team another shutout win.

Golf

Our Jv golf team had two matches this week. The first was on September 19th  vs. Holy Ghost Prep and we won 273-295! First victory of the year for the JV golf team against Holy Ghost Prep. He put that shot to 3 ft and made the easy birdie.
